Bobby Moynihan, Ron Funches to Host Ultimate Slip N Slide Game Show on NBC

Bobby Moynihan and Ron Funches are slated to co-host NBC‘s latest summertime competition game show, “Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide,” which will make a splash during a special two-night premiere on Aug. 8 after the Olympic Closing Ceremony. The series, which hails from Universal Television Alternative Studio in association with Propagate, is described as a fresh take on Wham-O’s iconic 1960s slippery outdoor game, promising many thrills (and spills).

“NBC is proud to be the home of some of the biggest and most outrageous physical competition shows and we’re thrilled to add this larger-than-life version of the classic backyard game to our summer lineup,” said Jenny Groom, executive VP, unscripted content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, in a statement. “What better way to celebrate all the gold medals from the Olympic Summer Games than to give everyday people the opportunity to soar down an extraordinary 65-foot-tall slippery yellow slide.”

Per the logline, this 10-episode, wet-and-wild show will take the spirit of the classic backyard slide and transform it into a real-life water park full of gigantic slippery rides with the chance to take home a big cash prize. Pairs of siblings, best friends, couples and co-workers from all walks of life will compete in multiple rounds of games, including Human Pong, Body Bowling, Cornhole, Bocce Fall and many more. The two teams that make it to the final challenge will take on the Big Slipper, a colossal multi-part slide meant for only the bravest and boldest players as it determines who will earn the championship title.

Moynihan, a “Saturday Night Live” nine-season veteran, can currently be seen in the cast of NBC’s “Mr. Mayor.” His other TV credits include “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” “Documentary Now!,” “Drunk History,” “The Simpsons,” “Girls,” “Portlandia” and “Me, Myself & I.” Moynihan is repped by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, United Talent Agency and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.

Funches, a stand-up comedian, actor and writer, is currently co-hosting “Top Secret Videos” on TruTV and “Chopped 420” on Discovery Plus. He is known for his TV roles on “The Goldbergs,” “Black-ish,” “New Girl,” “Transparent,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Powerless,” “Undateable” and has provided his voice to numerous animated sitcoms, including “Bob’s Burgers” and “Adventure Time.” Funches is repped by Truhett Management, Creative Artists Agency and attorney Jeff Cohen.
