Batman Exhibit at Warner Bros. Puts Spotlight on Dark Knight Movies

Batman may not show up on the big screen again until 2016, but that isn’t preventing Warner Bros. from promoting the Caped Crusader on film.

As the studio and DC Comics celebrate the iconic comicbook character’s 75th anniversary this year, the Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour added “The Batman Exhibit,” starting June 26. Exhibit, spread out across two venues on the studio lot, marks the first time artifacts from all seven Batman films have been shown off together.

DC helped develop the comprehensive display which includes the original Bat suits worn by Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Christian Bale. In addition to other costumes for villains like the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler and Mr. Freeze, props like Batman masks, Batarangs, Two-Face’s coins and the Penguin’s umbrella, Batman comicbook covers, and production art from the movies, the original Batmobile, Batpod, Tumbler and other vehicles also are on display.

Danny DeVito, who played the Penguin in Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns,” lit the Bat signal on the lot to kick off the attraction and noted to media in attendance how he’s honored to forever be associated with the character he portrayed in 1992. He said children still cower when he does the Penguin’s villainous voice.

Batman first appeared in the comicbook “Detective #27,” on March 30, 1939.

“During this unique opportunity, our studio tour guides will also reveal behind-the-scenes secrets from the seven films and the classic Batman TV series, highlighting several scenes that were actually filmed on the Burbank lot,” said Danny Kahn, executive director of the Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour.

The Batman exhibit will be available for a limited period of time with tickets, starting at $54, available to purchase through WBStudioTour.com.
